SACK SHOOT RULES


TIME: 4th Saturday of each month.  Range will be open at 8:00 am for- I in and set up. Match will be begin at 12:00.
LOCATION: H.O.T.S. Range located west of FM638 between Dawson and Tehuacana in Limestone County, Texas.

COURSE Of FIRE: 5 rounds each at 100m, 150m, 200m, 300m, 385m, and 500m for a total of 30 rounds.

TARGETS: 100m and 150m targets will be white envelopes 4.5 inches X 6 inches with a 1 inch aiming dot. 200m targets will be a white envelope 4.5 inches X 6 inches with a 2 inch aiming dot. 300m targets will be a white paper sack 5.25 inches X 10.5 inches with a 3 inch aiming dot.

385m targets will be a white paper sack 5.25 inches X 10.5 inches with no aiming dot. 500m targets will be a white paper sack 5.25 inches X 10.5 inches which will be placed on a 9 inch X 11 inch white backing. The backing is for reference only and will not be used for scoring purposes.

SCORING: Bullet marks on the targets will be scored as 1 point each. A perfect score will be 30 points. Tie scores will be resolved by a sudden death shoot-off at a distance of 385m. Targets for tie-breaking will be metal knock-down types that are 4 inches wide and 11 inches high. The scorer's decision is final.

TIME LIMIT: 5 minutes will be allowed to fire 5 rounds at each target. A 5 minute cooling and cleaning period will follow each round of fire.There will be only one relay unless there is a shortage of benches bench space.

FEE: $15.00 per shooter.

PRIZES: First place: $40.00, Second place: $25.00

RIFLE: 14 pound maximum weight. No rail guns will be allowed. Varmint type rifles, calibers, and bullets are preferred, however, any rifle of 30 caliber or less will be allowed. Bullet types that damage metal targets will not be fired at silhouette targets or gongs. The same rifle must be used for the entire match.

SHOOTING BENCHES: Bring your own. This range has a limited number of shooting benches. It is preferred that each shooter have their own bench as this will expedite the match.

SPOTTING SCOPES: Spotting scopes will be allowed but shooters will be required to spot their own shots during the match. No coaching will be allowed during the match.

WIND METERS: Wind meters, range flags, etc, will not be allowed during the match.

RIFLE RESTS: Rest bags, bipods, Sinclair/Hart type platforms, etc, will be allowed. No rails or similar devices will be allowed.

RIFLE SCOPE SIGHTS: Any rifle scope is allowed during the match.
