It's what I use in the shop, and what I sell. I actually switched to it from Mpro7. I don't think you can find a better carbon remover, and the copper solvent is the most agressive I have found it also doesn't react with the steel. I just don't use their oil as I believe there are far better lubes available. I use KG1, KG2 (rarely), KG12, and like there leather kote I believe KG11 (installing recoil pads). KG products are my choice for my own use. I'm trying Slip 2000 carbon cutter since a sample was sent to me, but I realy don't expect to see any major difference between it and the KG1. As a side banifit the KG products have little to no smell if that is a concern.

I bought a bottle of the KG1 at Precision Reloading in Mitchell, SD last spring on my way to the pd fields. I got it mailnly to use in the 204, thinking it might powder foul more than the 222. I used it with very satifactory results; cleans out carbon fouling very well, plus, it takes out quite a bit of copper when you let it soak. I was pleasently surprised the first evening while cleaning the rifles, that the patches were coming out very blue/green....definitely getting the copper out. It is something I'll always have in my cleaning box from now on.

I tried the copper remover, which was useless. Let it soak overnight in a real fouler of a barrel. It removed nothing. Forrest bore foam applied afterwards produced a blue patch after an hour. I think KG's advertising machine is way more efficient than their products.

As KG 12 does not contain amonia it will not cause the copper to stain the patches green or blue. I have actually tried dropping a Barnes TSX in a vial of the sruff overnight, and about 36 hours later I pulled it out and rinsed it off. I was actually able to measure a .002 reduction in diameter of the bullet. If you look closely at the patches run through the bore after letting it soak for 15-20 minutes you may actually see small flecks of copper on the patches.

Now that I've tried KG12 for copper removal, it's the only thing I use. Very aggresive on copper, but won't damage the barrel. You only need to soak it for 5-15 mins. The main thing with KG12 is, don't let it dry. Keep the bore wet. The KG2 Bore Polish is pretty good stuff too, and it also removes copper, but not as good as KG12. KG2 Bore Polish is really good when breaking in a new barrel. After cleaning, swab the bore back, and forth w/KG2 then push 1 patch through, then fire again. After last cleaning, run patch w/2 or 3 drops of oil through bore.
Just my 2cents worth. If it's worth that much.
