I just ordered up my new Tikka T3 Varmint and I am wondering what would be a good factory load that will shoot out of it. I am not going to reload so these have to be something I can find at a gun shop or gander mountain.

The barrel is almost 24" long with a 1-14 twist rate.

Thanks in advance!!!

What caliber? Every gun is different and it may shoot just about anything from the cheap stuff to the most expensive. I had one in the shop just the other day that wouldn't shoot the Federal premium very well but shot consistant 1/2" 3 shot groups with plain ol' core-lokts. Go figure. It was a
.270 in the T3 ss lite version. Not bad for a factory gun and factory ammo.
Just feed it what it likes.---Mike Ezell

I bought a 22-250. right now I still have some winchester supreme 40gr. left but I wasn't sure with the twist of the barrel if I should have heavy bullet or a light bullet.

Had pretty good luck with'em out of 2 or 3 guns. 14 twist will probally stablize up to 55grs. nervr tried anything heavier.

Ditto on the Winchester white box ammo...if you can find it . Kermit's right it'll shoot in about any factory 22-250 I've had. At first just don't buy up a whole lot of any one brand until you shoot it in your rifle.Good luck and have fun,

I'd go with the 55 grain bullet, with the 50 grain as a very close second choice. The 1 in 14 isn't supposed to stabilize a 60 grain bullet, but every 1 in 14 I have seen will stabilize the 60s, and they normally shoot well too.
I'm not real big on the lighter bullets as they shed speed to fast when shooting longer distances.

my savage model 12 .22-250 loves the winchester whiute box 45gr jhp's like nobodies bussiness. i baught 2000 from wal-mart. not at one time. i would keep a eye on them and when they came in i would buy them all. i'm going to reload them this winter and try 45gr hand loads. i'll have plenty one 1 time fired brass for awhile!!

I have seen very few rifles that would not shoot well with Hornady ammo.
