I have Sako L461 Vixon that I have had for several years. I have read here and there about the Pre-Garcia Sako's and have no I dea what the difference in pre or post Garcia would be, or how to tell if one is or isn't.
Mine says "Vixon made in Finland" on the barrel, and L461 on the action. It's chambered in 222Rem.
It really doesn't matter to me, but I keep seeing Garcia mentioned in reguards to the 461's and was just curious?????
Here's a pic of it if it helps.http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o222/CharlieB401/DSCN0074.jpg
Thanks

bcp,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Thanks....
I love reading all of the "experts" spewing forth their wisdom.
Turns out the simple answer is "it's printed on the bottom of the barrel". haha It's very faint but it's there if you look hard.
I've thought about rebarreling it to some sort of 17cal for years, but was afraid of ruining it's value. Looks like I don't have to worry about that after all..........
Thanks again.

any Sako is the owners choice . But any Sako brings Big Bucks anywhere I see them for Sale . Sure there are premiums for rare calibers and Condition , but don't sell your Garcia short ! BTW , I have a friend whose wife is a Finn . I can remember her asking : " Why do you Americans call our Rifles as if they were a Japanese Watch ? " Remember to call it a " SOCK-OH " ! :D
