Back from a quick evening hunt with my friend Curtis. We always have fun calling predators and tonight was no exception. Called in one bouncing red at farm A with blue jay distress. Went with a low light level red spotlight and Curtis dumped him with a 35g V-Max out of my Browning Micro Hunter Hornet. Love that gun and predators hate it

Saw another red but he was acting spooky after the shot and didn't want anything to do with us. It was bright and warm tonight and both are recipes for slow night hunts.
On to farm 2 where we called multiple reds that somehow eluded us. Either skylined with houses in background, brush in way, just over hill and couldn't go prone on long shot or... Just the way it is sometimes. Flipped over to a coon fight call to see if any bandits were in the area and one climbs a tree for a better look. A load of #4 buck out of a Beretta Xtrema ruined his evening.

On to farm #3 where we quickly saw 3 fox and shot at none of them. One was coming close and about to clear the brush when the farmers son came out to investigate We had called an hour earlier to let them know we would be there. Seems mom forgot to tell Jr we were in the area. Oh well, no biggie, he did get to see us pass up 2 other fox. Had them at about 250 and passed with hornet. Why did I leave my 17 rem home tonight?
Before leaving, we fired up the coon fight again and another set of bandit blinkers climbs up for a look. Hornet dumped him and sounded like a 10 lb sack of flour hitting the dirt. Go to pick up said coon and he has vanished! CRAZY, and he has been dubbed the ghost coon. Pretty rare to absorb a 35g VMax and make a get away.

All told for a warm evening with waaaay too much moonlight, I was pretty happy to see as much game as we did. As usual the FOXPRO was working great.
