Savage should buy the big GREEN and teach them something about marketing. Remington is to busy inventing tricky gimick rifles and some just plain junk, to get around to the basic needs and wants of the shooting public. Its does my heart good to know that there is one Co namely SASASAVAGE, now just listen at me, I still cant say it, that is thinking on its feet. GET er Done.

Good thought about Remington, and the same goes for USRAC, who were even worse market judges than Remington, in my opinion. Kill standard calibers and only offer your new WSSM? What Fools! The only logical excuse is that it was done to get out of CT. I have a new FNH Patrol Bolt Rifle rifle in .308, it appears to be a lot better made than the last M70 I bought that was made in CT.
I doubt Cerberus is interested in selling Remington just yet. They are still empire building. At last count, the corral holds Remington, Marlin, NEF/H&R, Bushmaster, Cobb and DPMS. Who will be next? Let's hope they will be benevolent landlords........and listen to their customers.

anyone w/Remington has enough common sense to listen to the consumer. Look at the lineup. Why compete against yourself?? Remington just introduced an AR gun, my question, why did they go ahead with that model when Cerebrus already owned 2 companies that was building "THE EVIL BLACK GUN". and depending on what COBB makes, maybe 3 AR companies. I'm just not Familiar w/Cobb at all ??? Maybe they figure that whoever goes BROKE with the most AR companies is the winner.

Oh oh, I think a Savage LRPV in 6mmBR will be too hard to pass up. I have a Rem 700 built up in 6mmBR and it is a great rifle, but the LRPV was quite impressive when I looked at one. It looks like I'll get my first Savage this year.

i've been buying nothing but savage's for about 10 years now. i've had remington's that didn't shoot worth a damn before, but never a savage. i've been very surprised with them right out of the box. and when you stock them do a little trigger work, and bed them they just plain out shoot any of the remington's i have been shooting against in our local matches. when somebody talks to me about buying a new hunting rifle i show them the savage websight and say "you just can't go wrong!!!":D

Another feather in Salvage's hat!!
Like Larry said, that is one company that listens to it's customers. Wow...A 6BR in LRVP... That is going to raise the bar of factory guns I have no doubt! I'm a Remington fan, but of late Salvage has passed Rem and others like they were on jacks!!!
Now, the really great thing about it, 6BR barrels for the LRVP will be available and I can't imagine many PDs are celebrating over that!!!
Exciting news, to be sure!

And I bet the 6BR will be chambered for no-neck-turn Lapua brass......

Let's hope Tinman is correct and Savage does chamber for the Lapua case.
My 6BR is and it's a shooter fer sure. :D
And I bet the 6BR will be chambered for no-neck-turn Lapua brass......
Thought I read it was chambered for Norma brass.

I'd like to see them selling all the different "Barrels/Calibers Combo's" so a guy could pick a different barrel to switch to with whatever Savage Cannon he had!! I could get a 22-250, 243, 6mm rem, 257 Rbts, 308, 358 Win, the new Federal Round and whatever else my imagination prompted me to try, and have them all on one Receiver & Stock with one scope!! :D

That would be convenient, and probably okay for those of us reading this board, but for the general public, it brings on way too much risk/liability for a company to do commercially. For all practical purposes, you can do exactly that now by buy prechambered barrels from SSS or PacNor, or whoever.... I have 2 single shot Savage 12's, one Swift, one 223, to be able to do just that without worrying about feeding from magazines. Only problem is they both shoot so well as is, I haven't wanted to change out barrels ...yet.
