7mm WSM build question 180gr Berger VLD's???

Will a 7mm WSM cartridge loaded with a Berger 180gr VLD fit down in the magazine for use as a repeater or are they too long for mag use?

Depends.....in most cases, too long unless the chamber reamer is designed to produce a chamber with the VLD seated deep enough to fit in the magazine. The VLDs are very long, so the bullet base will be seated well into the case.

If it`s your goal to fire them through the magizine you just seat the bullet deep enough that they fit in the mag. My guess is that accuracy in a factory gun would be pretty bad though. You will not only have a long jump to the lands but I doubt that you twist would be fast enough to stablize that long of a bullet. Check the Berger web page and see what twist they recomand for that bullet.
