I have a barrel blank that belongs to a gunsmith friend. It is marked "44 M", and 6.9" [twist]. I IS a fast twist and although "44 M" isn't how I've seen a 0.429/0.430" barrel marked ever before, it does seem to measure 0.429" or very close to it.
NOW, I can only think it might be a subsonic barrel for long heavy bullets, but that's just a guess. Anybody care to guess what this barrel is for??

Who you callin "SHORTY"???~~!:D

I am really pumped about this bow. I think it will show up on SOMEBODYS hunting shows before long. I tried to get it 'deered in' with 2 last trips to the woods but no deer showed up to volunteer.
I think this IS a true hunting bow and can't wait for September. Might ship it to Montana for the May gopher hunt. By the way, I rushed to get in front of my 10 second shutter digital camera on a tripod so my 'form' is pretty poor....AND,,I'm standing on a hillside.

I shoulda known not to say that! :o

I forgot the name. It looked like a kids bow until I pulled it back. OUCH. I think I pulled a muscle. Those cams sure are BIG! Sure looks like it would be "handy" in a treestand. I'll be waiting for the field report.

Sorry to hijack your post,

Charlie

the problem i've had with short bow's are they are very unforgiving. i tend to lean more toward longer bows myself, but in tree stands i can see why a short bow would be a must. i like my pse. i have a proshop bow. the beast is the name of the pse i have. it is one of the most accurate bows i've ever shot before in my life. i've owned 2 of them and they are sweet. i'm shooting a speed of around 280fps. that will do for me to kill deer. i have found faster bows also are very unforegiving as well.

Have you tried shooting the new PSE Super Short X Force???
As I said,,,don't let preconceived 'notions' get in your way! THIS bow is going to change a lot of 'thinking'.
It did mine!

alen, does that bow have a scope on it? the one i used to use to shoot vagas dots had a 4 power scope on it. i regret selling that bow and scope. i haven't shot any new bows in two years. the one i have now is still shooting great so i have no need to get a new one. if something works for me i don't get rid of it because it works. i got caught up in buying a new bow every year about 7 years ago. after spending $800 two years in a roll for a new matthews bows i kept my pse beast because i love it. i will look at the new shorty pse bow. how fast does it shoot, and what is the total lenght cam to cam? how much let off is there on it? what is the poundage on it? i could be interested in another short bow if it is really a good bow. i've always liked pse.
