I'm probably just the last to know but I noted Shilen Rifles Inc is now making drop-in barrels for Savage rifles.

I've heard it takes around 3 or 4 months to get them.

I have one in a 6-284, 1-8tw(ordered through Jerry Wilbanks, the new "barrelman") and another on order in 6mmBR through Jim Briggs. It was 12 weeks to the day on the first one (which was the quote). Second one was quoted at 16 weeks. About 4 months is a good estimate as getting one of their Select barrels prechambered at those prices is like getting the machine work free. As for accuracy I only have 100 rounds through it with nothing doing much better than 1"(107's, 105 Berger and Amax's) but it's early still. I just hope it will shoot the heavies as that is what it was purchased for.

I have one on order fron Jim Biggs as well. I caught him at a good time as two had been ordered and only one sold was quoted 6 weeks. I ordered on 2/28. 6BR 1 in 8 twist no turn neck.
