First I would like to say that I love my Stoeger 2000! I have only shot about 50 rounds through it but I do believe this is the start of something great!

I am looking for a mercury recoil reducer that fits in the synthetic stock. From what I can find the recoil reducer for the Benelli Nova is the same as for the 2000. Am I correct with this assumption? All the specs and diagrams of the two shotguns point to this but want more info or confirmation before I order one. Thanks for the help.

Recoil is a bit more than with a pump shotgun due to the Stoeger being lighter in weight. I also have problems with both of my shoulders and it would be nice to keep them working as long as possible. Years ago my shoulders started to have problems, at that time I was on a softball league but my shoulder hurt so much that had problems throwing the ball from home plate to the pitchers mound. Docs say that surgery is not needed and that a hydrocorizone shot will most likely have no effect on them. Told me when they get worse then surgery or shots may help. Any ways..... the 2 3/4 loads that I am shooting are ok but would like to shoot heavy 3" loads, maybe for turkey or slugs for deer or bear. I have put the limbsaver recoil pad on it and can tell the difference and figured that if the recoil reducer can help even a little bit the it will be worth it to save my shoulder.

Gary, I also put on an elastic ammo holder, and added 5 rounds in it to the stock of my 2000. I was going to recommend the Limbsaver, but you've already got that. I shoot a steady diet of "high brass" loads, and it doesn't beat me too bad. BUT, those 3" turkey loads are going to hammer you for sure. The only turkey loads I shot were with a lead sled, so recoil was fine. Can't help you on the mercury recoil reducer, but would like to know what you find out.

was showing some Stoeger stuff to a customer on Sat. and remember seeing that as an option. Basically, there's a plastic thing that holds the mercury recoil tube and the whole thing slides into the stock. So you'd need both pieces. Chances are, it is the same as the Benelli, but I'll get exact part numbers from my catalog.

I WAS WRONG!!!

The Synthetic stocked stoegers have a built in cavity that holds the suppressor. No extra pieces needed (like the Benelli's mentioned above in this post). The item number you need is #50207 - 13 oz. mercury recoil reducer. Cost should be about $65+shipping.
