Has anyone done any work with this round? I was sitting here thinking one day (Quick eveone to the bunker) that it might do ok necked down to a 6.5 or 6mm? Is there a way to make the cartridge headspace off the shoulder rather than the belt?

Most people who reload for the belted magnums headspace them off the shoulder. This is done by necksizing only, or by adjusting the full length die so as to acomplish this purpose. If you neck a 308 Norma mag down to 6.5mm what you get is a .264 win mag.

Dang see what I get for thinking. LOL thanks for the info.

Had a sako in 264 win mag. Boy was that a shooter. I wanted it so bad then my dad went and traded it off on a Ruger M77vt in 204. GRRRRRRRRRR

I am not really sure why you would use this brass.

I have one and the brass is rather pricey. I also happen to have a good supply of brass. I did make some from .338 Winchester. It was easy to neck down the brass and then blow the shoulder out a bit. The neck came out short, Even the fire form loads shot very well.

I really like the cartridge, but I would not build a gun around the brass for a wildcat.
