1. Does anyone else think the new Ruger would be good on wild hogs?
2. Remington's offering a $50 rebate on the "varmint tactical" rifle, selling for around $600 total. Any opinions on the triangle-shaped 22" barrel?

The VTR is a great feeling rifle and with the new barrel you get a semi-heavy stiffer barrel with out the flutes, the triangle is cheaper to produce I would think and a new selling point,.I've got one ordered in 204- wish it was in .20 Fireball!!! Some people won't like the new look but I'm glad to get a calling rifle without 26" heavy barrel and a cheap looking all black stock!

A guy at work just got a VTR in 223. 22" barrel that is ported like a compensated pistol. Hasn't shot it yet. The surface texture on the flats look like they are EDM milled. He is retiring the 31st, so I may not get a range report.....
