I decided that I needed a digital pocket size wind meter. I checked out several brands and price ranges and selected the Skymate SB-18 from Speedtech. It had all the features I needed, was well built, has a 1 year warranty and was within my under $70 price range.
I searched the web for the best price and the best I was able to find on a new unit was around $60 plus shipping. While searching I stumbled onto an Amazon seller who had the unit for $29.99 plus $4.99 shipping! Just to make sure I called the seller's store and assured myself that the deal was on the up and up. Placed the order and the unit, as described, was delivered in three days.
Great tool, great price, great seller.

Sorry Tin Man. I had a feeling that they wouldn't last long at that price.

That is a good deal...but u missed the slickest little gizmo of all time--the Speedtech Weather Watch Pro. It has a pop-up anemometer on it. But no longer being sold by them. If that isn't the coolest wristwatch of all time, i don't know what is.

Glad you got one. Evidently they sold out quickly. No wonder at that price.

Im' Oneholes brother and we went out groundhog hunting yesterday. The wind was gusting from 5 to 15mph. We spied a hog at 340 yards that would not come totally out of his hole. I decided to take a head shot with the wind blowing at approx. 7mph. My range card said to hold off approx. 8" for my 19/223. My first shot went alittle high. At the next shot Jim saw a puff of smoke indicating a hit. When we went up to see if I connected I had made a headshot. I think this wind meter will give us better percentage of connects in the future.
