for my 7 year old son Lee.

Long story short I'm really proud of Lee, didn't think we would be able to pull this one off.

The gobbler was strutting directly in front of us while two hens were scratching less than a foot from the front edge of the blind. One started eyeballing us through the open window, thought she was going to actually stick her head in there for a minute. Lee and I didn't move a muscle. With my gloved hand covering Lee's entire face and bill of my hat tilted down I thought it was over. She scratched on maybe a little spooked but not enough to putt. As the second hen scratched on by I slowly eased the shotgun barrel out the window. Halfway through the motion the gobbler dropped his feathers and looked alarmed. Froze for a few seconds and he went back to strutting. Got the shotgun propped up and passed off to Lee. "Get it on his neck and squeeze son, quick." By this time the gobbler has dropped his feathers again and stretched his neck out, to bad for him. Thanks for posing fella, just a second longer.....Boom, flop. Lee got his third turkey ending his season @6:50am. Can't tell you how excited we were.

I didn't think we stood a chance drawing with them that close. These blacked out interior pop-up blinds are really the way to go. Ours is an Ameristep Doghouse blind I've had for about three seasons now.

Thanks for looking.
