This afternoon, John Richard Lanza shot and instantly killed a groundhog at distance of 560 yards offically making him a member of the 500 YD Hog Club. We both use Leica laser range finders and we ranged from the hog back to the barn where we were sitting when he fired the shot. Both of us read 560 yds on two different range finders. Rick used a 22BR with a 1 in 8 twist Spencer barrel, Stiller Predator Action, Jewell Trigger and was smithed by Clay Spencer. Rick bedded the barrelled action himself in a Richard Franklin stock Conditions were ideal; 80 degrees,no wind, and good light without any haze or boil. This was the icing on the cake as we killed 8 hogs at ranges from 91 to 560 yds on a farm in Anne Arundel County Maryland. Witnessed and certified by Gary W. Sutphin. Great shooting Rick!
