Contemplating the purchase of a Cooper 6BR for a paper puncher and varminter. As I have never owned one, can someone help me understand more about the design of Cooper triggers?
Are the triggers Coopers own design or a copycat of others?
How adjustable are they?
Are there aftermarket triggers available?
Suggestions and opinions are appreciated.:D

I'll try and help where I can. Having owned several, I do know a little.
As far as being a copy, I can't comment. I'm not all that mechanical and all I can say is they are not like a Savage or a Jewell.
They are adjustable down to under a lb. I have had some that would go to about 10oz, but they get squirrely past that. They are a very good, crisp trigger usually, but they are not a Jewell and will not go reliably very light.
Jard is making a good, adjustable trigger that will go to 2oz. I have two of them. If you are looking for a near benchrest trigger for a Cooper this is just about your only choice. Sems like they are in the neighborhood of $175. If you order one, ask about additional springs. You can go from a benchrest to a hunting trigger with the change of a spring. Check out Jard's website for more info.

30378 , I have checked a lot of the older Cooper Triggers for weight of pull , and there is some variability . Some will adjust safely to about 14- 16 oz . and some won't go below 32-36 oz. I rate them a good Trigger , not a Super Trigger . There are some Coopers around with Jewel triggers , but they are very rare , and I would not count on finding one ( I'm always looking to find one ) . I think the present ones are made by Cooper . Don't know much about copies , but there are only so many things you can incorporate in a Trigger . There is a replacement Trigger which just came on the market , but I can't think of the Brand ( maybe somebody else will chime in ) . Most folks can live with the usual 1.5-2 lb. Cooper Trigger pull , but if you are used to a Jewel or other BenchRest Trigger , you will most likely want better . All in all , though , Coopers are hard to beat .

Thanks for the responses. You are hitting right on my issue. I have 6 rifles with Jewells and I am very spoiled to their exactness.:D
