Last sunday we went calling with the idea we could get one with the shotgun. On the first set this young female came in to about 20-25 yds before she saw us. As she turned my pard hit her with a load of 00 buck. Congrats on a good hunt. The only one I have taken with a shotgun was during turkey season about 15yrs ago. It absorbed a 1 7/8oz of #4''s at 40 yds and hauled arse down the hill. After a little tracking, I jumped him and belted him 4 more times with #2's at around 50yds as he scrambled away. He managed to go another 20yds or so before he died.

when they are moving after being shot with a shotgun, keep shooting! 00 limits your yardage due to pellet density, try and scounge up some #4 buck if you can.
