WANTED - contender 25-06 barrel

Do you mean Encore?

Contenders don't handle cartridges of that large base/high pressure type.

bcp is correct, the 25/06 pressures are to high for the Contender but is ok in the Encore. On Bullberry's website they have a great list of what chamberings are available in the different Contenders and the Encore.

Thanks, no I really was looking for one for the G2 im planning on purchasing
soon..... since it can handle the 45/70 the 26/06 is not a problem for it...
BUT.. CONTENDERS AND G2 USE THE SAME BARRELS... thats why i was asking... I didnt realize the contender couldnt do a 06...

I do not think you will find a barrel maker that will make a 25/06 for either Contender due to liability. The Contenders can handle large diameter cartridges but only if they are low pressure. The 45/70 is a large diameter case but it is a low pressure cartridge. The 25/06 is a high pressure cartridge and will destroy a Contender and you in a short time. On my website I have a list of companies who make barrels for the Contenders and the Encore, maybe a visit to some of them will show you what can or can not be done with a T/C.

If you read Swampfox's original post he was looking for the 25-06 for a Contender, not an Encore. It has been discussed already but the Contender can not handle the 25-06 safely and from what I have seen on the websites of those who make a business of chambering Encores/Contenders, none of them will chamber a Contender for the -06 due to liabilities involved.
