Keith (my Son-In-Law) & I drove down to Dale Hollow Lake mid afternoon
today for a fishing trip with my Brother. We had a blast & caught a really
nice bunch of Ky Spotted Bass. Didn't count them, but, I am guessing that
my Brother cleaned somewhere around 15 or so. We came home with a
one gallon zip lock bag of nice filets. Some of them went in the upper 2
pound range. Sure looking forward to doing that again one day next week.

Don surely you're not gonna eat those pore little ole fish are ya
Sounds like you had fun and it's relaxing just to be on the water
If I went fishing I'd have to replace the line on my reels...been too long
and I'm afraid that if I don't get my boat in the water it's gonna dry rot

There's a small river up in the Flint Hills, east of Wichita, that's loaded with Kentuckies and huge bluegill. A certified good time on light tackle or a fly rod.
Dang man, it just got to be fall and you got me missing summer.

This fishing trip came up kinda suddenly & I don't think I even own a
camera. James, my Brother is a Guide on Dale HOllow, so I just used
his tackle. Beats having to haul all that stuff to his boat. Ole, sorry
about not having any pics. Gonna give it another try maybe later this
week iffin everything works out ok. Them Ky Bass sure are great in the
skillet with some good cornbread, meal gravey & cold slaw. Enough to
make a feller slobber a bit. LOL.

Hey Ole, do I have a fishing story for you ! I went back down to Dale
Hollow Lake to give the Ky Bass another try last Thursday off the back
of my Brothers HOuseboat. The Ky Bass have a habit of congregating
around the Shad Cages he has. Well, fished most of the day and never
caught the first fish of any kind ! But, had a very enjoyable day. My
little Brother told me that we needed a good day with sunshine rather
than the cloudy overcast day that was prevelant that day. So, all of
the fishing trips are not productive, LOL.

Well Don I think some of my best fishing brought home the fewest fish. But there's something about just getting on the water. I used to live right on Lake Washington a few years back and I just enjoyed going down to the dock and wetting a line.

Dad a I used to spend a lot of time on the river for steelhead in the good old days.

My Little Brother was here for a visit yesterday with Maggie since was
home from the hospital. He said that April should be a good time to get
after the Ky Bass again. Sure looking forward to April ! I used to Bass
fish on all the lakes around here for years & years, even did about 10
years of Tournament Fishing. Sold everything and started shooting again.
I like them both, but shooting is my first desire ! Didn't get to the range
today. I have had a new 219 Donaldson Wasp for several years and have
only fireformed 50 rounds of brass & done the new barrel break in. Time
for "load development". Going to take it to Doc's Moonshine Mountain Range
on our next trip as soon as the weather gets a little warmer. Shouldn't be
too long now. Much too windy today for load development. I have some
test rounds loaded & looking forward to the test. I still enjoy my fishing &
especially a skillet full fried up real good.
