My Johnny Stewart 612 caller is not working as it should. The volume is very low. I forgot to charge it for some time. Just read the instructions and it says to charge every 2 months. I may have to buy another. I usually hunt crows, but coyotes have made their way to VA and I would like to give them a try. Hunted fox at night in the past. Any suggestions?

I have had this caller on for more than an hour now, and it is still going. Just not very loud. ??????????

Have you contacted Johnny Stewart to see if they have any suggestions or will repair or replace it? If that isn't an option, you might want to take it to an electronics repair store (Radio shack???) to see if the Rheostat is bad or the speaker has something wrong with it. WD

Thanks. I emailed Johnny Stewart. I will get a tape head cleaner this afternoon and try that.

I have one also, maybe I'll run into the same problem one day.

I have one also, maybe I'll run into the same problem one day.

I called Johnny Stewart this morning. They said it sounded like a low current problem or possibly the amp. I was given the details to mail it back. Cost = $40 + parts + shipping. I think that I screwed up the battery by not charging it every two months as stated in the directions. I talked with my friend who is an electrical engineer. That was his diagnosis. He said that he has a friend who puts the charger on his trolling motor battery as soon as he returns from fishing and has used the same battery for years. I had a Q Beam gel cel that I used for about twenty years. But, I went for years without charging that one, and it still worked fine.
