Trouble with field stripping Browning Buckmark pistol...Need Help!!

I recently bought a Buckmark camper and have had a blast shooting it, however when I went to field strip it for cleaning I could not for the life me get the recoil rod and firing pin housing to come out. I have tried for several hours to try and figure it out but I can't, I am following the instruction from the manual but the housing gets stuck towards the rear and I can only pull it out about a third of the way. I am incredibly frustrated and would love any suggestion from people with buckmark experience might have. Thanks

And they have helped you with your problem, why do you have to field strip at all? I have a Buckmark 14" Sil., fired it for years, only cleaning with swabs and regular cleaning practices. In my opinion, stripping unnecessary for the use you have described.............l.r.
