Years ago I got ahold of this Win. Mod 75 Target Rifle. I had the Barrel shortened at the breech end by an inch and half and rechambered with a 22LR match reamer. The Receiver & Bolt were sorta "Blue-Printed" and with a new target Crown at the Muzzle, this Rifle shoots way better than I do. It's topped with a Wittek-Vaver Peep Sight and a Redfield Front Globe Setup. I have a Chart taped on the Forearm with Sight Settings out to 350 yds and have shot a fair share of Squirrels with this Gun out at 350 yds on a nice quiet Morning from a good rest. Biggest problem is judging distance but with my Bushnell Elite 1500 Rangefinder things have gotten a lot easier for hits at a distance past 100 yds.

This old Vaver Sight has me plumb Spoiled. It's so quick to adjust and if you memorize the Yardage Settings, you can bounce all over the place at different ranges shooting Squirrels.

I've used this old Rifle for nearly 40 yrs. now and I can't remember half of the thousands of Richardson Ground Squirrels and Jackrabbits this old Cannon has sent to the Happy Hunting Grounds.

I think all Pre 64 Winchester rifles are special.

I have a Winchester 69A Match rifle that shoots great and someday would like to own a mod. 75 target or sporter version.

that is a nice looking rig you have. Squirrels out to 350 yards with a 22lr and peep sights, you are a hell of a shot. I would figure the differences in load quality alone would almost make that impossible.

Mo, sometimes you have to shoot more than once!:)

I am used to "walking" the bullet to the target, but I would figure any deviation in load quality would make it difficult. But that is what makes it fun.
