Does anyone have one of these pistols? What do you think of them? Saw a couple at the last gun show. Really a nice gun it seems. Darrel

Yeah, I've got one with the extra 22mag cylinder. I've had the gun maybe 30 years or more. It has never shot worth a crap all these years until I discovered standard velocity ammo. Groups, if that's what you want to call them, at 25 yds were about 6". With standard velocity ammo, it will now shoot in the 1" size groups at 25 yds from bags. The Mag cylinder I don't use much as there is zero accuracy. I highly doubt I could hit my truck at 100 yds with it out of a full box of ammo. That's my experience with mine. They have been going up in price at the gunshows around here. Personally, I wouldn't pay over $200.00 for one as there are better shooters out there for that kinda money.

try some different 22 mag ammo in that colt. your colt should shoot that 22 mag ammo better than the 22 long rifle as your gun was really made to shoot the 22 mag ammo. A 22 magnum is a little wider than a 22 long rifle so there for the barrel is bigger to accommodate the 22 magnum. All convertible guns would be like that in most cases. Try some winchester supreme thru it and i bet those groups will tighten up. If not there are other choices out there now as ammo makers are really turning out some great 22 magnum ammo these days. For plinking and fun the 22 long rifle cylinder would be fine for accuracy the 22 magnum would have to get the nod. For a dedicated 22 magnum handgun the smith and wesson 48 in 6 inch would be hard to beat, and if you want the very best a freedom arms.
