I typed up these instructions awhile back to send to a friend that needed help learning how to add pictures to posts. I have since shared them with a couple of others that were also successful in figuring it out. I OK'd it with Mike to make a post with the info so that anyone new or new to posting pictures can use it too. These instructions use TinyPic Image Hosting site simply because that is the one that was shared with me when I was learning how. There are many, many more sites and I am not saying you have to use this one, it just happens to be the one I can explain how to use!

You can print this post and follow the steps until you get the hang of it. Hope this helps......and feel free to ask if you have questions or trouble getting it to work. I probably won't know the answers but I'll be glad to try to help!!

Posting pictures on the Varmint's Den message board:

If you have Internet Explorer or something similar where you can open more than one page under tabs on a page:

Open Internet Explorer and go to the Varmint's Den (GGVG). Begin your post within which ever forum want it to be in. You can stop at the point you want to include your pic, follow the rest of these instructions and then finish typing your post after you've added the pic OR you can type the entire post and then go back and click between the paragraphs or in the area you want the pic to show up.

When you are ready for your picture, open a second tab and go to http://tinypic.com/ . (Note: When I first pull this page up, I used to get an error that says "Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://tinypic.com/. Access is denied." But all I had to do is hit "refresh" and the page loaded, no problem. This was probably just a glich on my computer but just in case it happens to you, try refreshing the page and see if that works.)

You will now be on TinyPic's "Upload Images and Videos" page. Click on "browse" and navigate to the file and then picture you want to upload. Double click on the picture and you will return to the TinyPic page. (Note: If you have dial-up it helps to have the pic sized to around 640 X 480 before you upload it, but you can resize as you upload it. It's just faster to have it sized first.)

Even if I have it sized already, I click on the drop down menu and then click on "Message Board 640 X 480".

Then click on "Upload Now". After the pic is uploaded you will have a page with "Links to share". Click and drag to highlight the "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" link and keeping your arrow pointed to the highlighted link, right click and select "copy".

Now return to your tab with your post, click on the area you want the pic to be in the post, then right click and select "Paste".

It's that simple. The link for your pic should now be included in your post but you can hit "preview post" when your done to make sure the pic is there. If not you'll need to try again, but it should include your picture in the preview and then all you have to do is "submit post".

Note: If you don't have a browser with tabs so that you can open more than one webpage at a time you will need to upload your photo first, click and drag to highlight then right click and copy the link. Then go to the GGVG site, begin your post then right click and paste the link within your post at the point you want to include the pic.
