Anyone here have any idea how many of these rifle were made? I have seen some that had 24" barrels and some with 26" barrels. Was wondering how many of each was made?

It is a minefield. A couple years ago I was looking for a .22 and .45LC levergun combination and did some research on the Marlins before buying a couple.
The 97s had a bunch of factory options that change their value considerably. The best way to get an idea would be to search auctionarms, gunbroker and gunsamerica.
The BB is only a guide but does say it was manfactured from 1999-2001. You could call Marlin to see if they have a historian, I don't know who owns Marlin now, Good luck,

Marlin has their own forum. If you are not a member and want me to post your question over there just send me a PM, and I would be glad to do it. Then you could read the responses. Tom.
