I've decided I have a need (right, right) for a nice plinking, informal target shooting, 22 semi auto pistol. I want something in stainless steel and the Buckmark Camper seems to feel the best in my hand. Any thoughts or experience you have with this model would be appreciated.

I've had one for a year and a half and can't say enough about it. Sites are good, barrel is heavy enough to hold steady and it's accurate right out of the box. Can you tell I love mine? to answer your question YES

I've always found the Rugers to be overrated and the Brownings a much better deal. I have an older Buckmark I wouldn't part with.

I bought a Walther P22 that was junk right out of the box, dealer exchanged it for another which had a bad trigger problem in a matter of weeks, so rather than me setting on his lap feeding him a Walther piece by piece he gave me a Buckmark. It WAS the best shooting .22 I'd ever owned- until I found a Sig Mosquito. I've had 2 friends go buy them as well. They are definitely worth a look.

+1 on the Sig Mosquito.

I own at least one of a lot of popular 22 LR pistols. My Sig has quickly become my favorite.....

Man Rule # 745: Never resist purchasing another 22 semiauto. You can't have too many.

Never resist buying another 22lr levergun or bolt action.

front sight. I can't believe they market those and call them a sight system.

Recently swapped off a Beretta #71 .22 pistol.

Owned a Buckmark last year, it shot well but it was a large gun for a .22 pistol.

No photos of it, but I bought a used Ruger standard Mk I .22 pistol, 4.75" barrel and FS a week or so ago.

I've got a 5.5" nickel slab sided standard buckmark from about ten years ago. It is one of the few guns I have that I absolutely will not part with. When I was shopping my .22 pistol purchase, my decision came down to the Buckmark and the Ruger MkII. The grip angle and feel of the Browning was way better for me, and the trigger out the box was far better on the Buckmark.

Many a digger squirrel has fallen to my Buckmark. Out to about 40 yards, that thing puts bullets right where I want them on squirrel sized targets.

The only gripe I have is a bit of nickel has flaked off around the chamber mouth, but I can forgive that after many thousands of rounds.

I think the newer Buckmarks make more use of plastic than older ones, but I'm not sure where that would be.

I've got one of the early to mid 90's slab sides, great gun. I can't comment on the newer Buckmarks but I love my older Browning.

Now that I've JUST purchased a Ruger 22/45 to get threaded for my Tactical Inovations suppressor.....you make mention of a pistol I've never heard of......Soooooo....I google up a search on this "Sig Mosquito"....ah crap. I think I'm gonna have to have one of those. I'll at least be asking about them in my circle of gun friends.
Looks like a cool pistol.;)
