Have great results coating 22lr ammo. Couple of mine 22 rifles I bought second hand and they have been good shooters. But not knowing exactly the round count or what kind of ammo had been used I took 100 22lr ammo, cleaned with acetone and dried, and with the tip of a knife blade full of HbN put in a plastic container hand shook for couple min and it sticks to the bullet, easy to wipe it off the brass.

After the 100 rounds shot through my 10/22 the groups almost 1/2 size and ammo that wouldn't shoot well before now shoots better as well.

Did this trying to copy David Tubb's barrel polishing method. He uses HbN but not sure what method he uses to coat 22 lr ammo. Does anyone here have experience with coated 22lr ammo?

I have a buddy that swears by... honestly... hemorrhoid cream. He tells me he came across the idea when he had a brick of .22 ammo was not shooting well one Summer... apparently the high heat had allowed the wax coating to slip. Never did explain how he arrived at that idea, but he swears by it. Just puts some on his fingers and wipes it on each bullet so no need to clean the brass.

Markbo ...tell your buddy to be very careful with those hemmorhoid cream coated 22s . He may make a bad mistake one day and insert one of those ( in the wrong place ) instead of a "silver bullet " and end up in real trouble !
