i've got a custom stocked 17hmr that i had sent off to kevin rayhill to inlet a stock for it for me. it has a alumimun skeleton in it. it is piller bedded and glass bedded. it started out life as a savage 93 .17hmr with the accutrigger. i removed the trigger and reworked it. it is between 8-6 ozs now. no creep. it breaks like glass. it has a tasco 10x40x50mm target scope on it. i have 7 full boxes of the lot of hornady 20 grain jhp's that is going with it. when the weather allows it i have shot consistant 7/16 inch groups with it. i call it the big orange stick. if your at court days i'll have it with me. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p19/gonzogunner/funtimes006.jpg
it has a draw length for a adult man, adjustable cheek piece, thumbhole and a custom made trigger guard. the rifle will need to be rezeroed because i took my goo weaver t36 off of it, but the tasco will work just fine. all jokes aside this rifle shoots. i have $500 invested in just the stock alone, not to mention the trigger work i did on it. this rifle shoots 7/16 inch groups at 100 yards. i hate to get rid of it but there are a few other things i want to do and this rifle is in my way right now. i'm letting the last 7 boxes of the case of 20 grain hornady go with it. that is 7 boxes of 50 i have left out of a case.
Imagine if you will a small valley about 200 yards wide and half a mile long with about 5000 people and 80% have a gun to trade or sell.
When is Court Days this year?
How much you askin?
I might take my 22 mag. It does not weigh much and I can bring it back home if the prices are normal for Court Days. Most times you can buy something for $50 over Walmart or Dick's price.

well if you go it started today!!! i'll tell you that your stuff is junk and thier stuff is all gold lined!! i saw boxes of winchester white box .380 with 100 rounds selling for $55 a box!! people were gladdly buying it!! boxes of 50 rounds went for $35-$45!!! i almost fell over with shock when i saw people buying the crap out of it!!!
i tried to do some trading on a couple of crickets for my girlfriends son. everybody wanted to trade me even for a $125 .22lr cricket rifle that is just a little over 2ft long for her son!!! my rifle is in a stockade stock, glass and piller bedded and has a tasco 10x40x50mm scope on it!! i sold a entire brick of 20 grain hmr ammo right off the bat this morning for more than i paid for it!! that was the only deal of the day for me!!!
what is courtdays? how can i say it? if you want it it is there. goats, chickens, dogs, food, shoes, socks, underwear, cov eralls and guns. lots and lots of guns!! if you go take at least 2 guns with you because young children will ask thier parents what is wrong with you if you aren't packing at least one firearm. i'd say more than 80% had a firearm today. kids were even packing airsoft rifles to keep from being out of place!!!
the super hot ticket there this year is over-under shot guns. if you have one and want to sell it that is the place to go!! my buddy was looking for a choke for a stoker(i hope i spelled it right) over under shot gun. he gave $225 for it at the last gunshow we went to and i saw him turn down $350 for it!!! if a man had a truck load of them he could make a killing there this weekend!!
Back in olden times, circuit judges held a traveling court. Some places did not see a judge for 6 months or more. It was a big attraction.
Today in Kentucky every little town has some form of festival to draw people and tourists, hoping to gain a financial advantage.
Mt. Sterling decided to have Court Days as its festival. In 4 days this little town becomes a hugh entanglement of arms and legs in a very small area. People everywhere. Dog trading was really big 15-20 years ago. Gun trading still is. It is a giant outdoor flea market on one side of town and a giant gun show on one end.
Saturday and Sunday will be spectacular, if the weather does not run people off.
