Reloading for the 45/70 Varmint 1873 Springfield

Any starting loads that duplicate BP loadings w/ Red Dot or Blue Dot & the 405 Gr Bullet? I am using a 1873 Springfield and want to play abit w/ excess Red & Blue Dot powder... TIA :confused:

I use 13gr. of Blue Dot with 400gr. lead bullets in my 45/70's. I hesitate to quote loads for others, but I've had no trouble at all after having used hundreds of rounds loaded this way. Hope this helps.
