It's been raining quite a bit around Dallas as you guys may have seen on the news. We managed to squeeze in between the storms for a few hours today. We didn't get anything but had a pretty good time zipping around the lake.

I really like the local Bass Pro shop at Lake Ray Hubbard. It and several restaraunts are situated on the edge of the lake. You can tie up at one of the slips and go in to shop or eat.

Here's wifey casting in a little cove we found.

Me on my perch... Unfortunately, no fish probably since this lake is smack in the middle of Dallas, I'm betting the fishing pressure is extremely heavy. So no surprise we didn't get lucky.

As soon as the rain lets up a bit, we plan to hit a couple other lakes in the area and especially, Lake Texoma on the Texas, Oklahoma border. There's a lot of lake there and not that much population. Shepperd AFB in Wichita Falls Texas has a military facility at the lake we can use as well.

More to come!

So, how you liking that new rig? Can't hardly miss the shine on the 'glass. How is it powered? 19 footer?

Got a few bugs to work out which comes with any new toy whether it's a car, boat, rifle, etc. Nothing major though.

It's a 190 HP (4.3 Liter) Chevy block with Mercury Marine stuff bolted to it. Not the biggest but enough for my needs... for now!:D

Man, they sure look nice all shiny and new don't they?

Seems they had a 4 cyl moons ago and an upgrade. The 4 was a bit on the doggy side iirc. The chev 4.3 is one strong pc of machinery. They made a good move when they did that. Glad you're enjoying it.

Does it have a straight thru cooling system or an exchanger? With fresh water use, it doesn't really matter as far as I know.

"Does it have a straight thru cooling system or an exchanger?" I've no idea what the difference is so I couldn't tell you.

I coulda' had the 220 HP V-8 but was already over budget on this one. Wifey is ticked because I "went cheap on her". She really wanted the nicer features. Go figure...
