Well it started this last week again. For the next month we shut down the shop and myself and my other gunsmith go up to the boy scout camp and volunteer our time to teach some of the scouts to fish the right way, with a fly rod. This was the first year we could catch fish as before the pond we had to work with had no fish and they wanted to see if there would be enough interest. We had to limit the class to 6 and in doing that we had to turn away about 18 scouts, just can't teach that many at once. The pond that we used had been stocked a few weeks back, and everyone caught a couple of browns 3 within the first 2 minutes of a line hitting the water. The smallest caught was about 12" and the largest went about 18". The bad deal about it is the pond is really small only about 4 feet deep and with the 100+ temps is getting really too hot for the fish to survive. I would guess the water was 80-85. Hopefully they last the next 3 weeks.
