That is, a new California state smallmouth record of 9.83 lb , caught on lake Pardee,
on July 3, on a 6 inch Castaic swim bait..the fish was 26" long and had a girth of 18.5 inches.

The current world record of 11 lbs 15 oz...was caught in 1955 at Dale Hollow lake, which is on the Tennessee/Kentucky boarder.

Good fishing,

Harry

That is one TOAD of a fish! I'd be happy to catch a largemouth that big... I've caught some 3's and an ocassional 5 from the James River here in Va. Those burned my reels up ...lol can't imagine what it felt like to get that monster in! Bet the drag was smokin'!!!! Sam
