Flaig's was located near Millvale, PA, a suburb on the near North side of Pittsburgh, not Philadelphia. They were located on a rather large preserve of woods, had a big lodge and several outbuildings where many gunsmiths worked. They did a lot of conversions and custom builds of surplus rifles, '03's and 98 Mausers, after WWII. The workmanship was typically very good to outstanding. They had a very good reputation. You could get anything from a simple re-barrel to a full up engraved custom. I managed to visit their shop twice when I lived in the Pittsburgh area. I don't recall when they actually closed, but it was probably the late '70's or early 80's at the latest.
