Dale....

While I donít have the 17HH yet I do enjoy my 19Calhoon built on a Ruger and my 22K as well.I do shoot a 17AH from a Bullberry 15 barrel. Was always told the Ruger wouldnít handle the pressures of the 17AH as well as the CZ.Kinda think that is why Ruger changed the ole Ackley design a bit as the newer Hornady 17 runs a little slower and at a bit less pressure. If you go over to YouTube and look for Cavedweller1959 his video of the 17 Hornady Hornet explains the pros and cons of the 17HH and itís fun to watch him shoot dogs in South Dakota out to about 275 yards with it.

keep an eye out for the 2 piece bolt. Sometimes you need to shim the bolt to improve headspace and thus accuracy. The newer models may not have a 2 piece bolt.

Thanks
I just watched a you tube on how to add shims to the bolt. I believe it is a two piece.

Ruger 17h

Hope to get out tmw and shoot it.
Iíve-
Glass bedded it
Free floated the barrel
Shimmed the bolt
Replaced sear and trigger spring with Volquartsen.

The Volquartsen kit reduced the pull from 5 plus pounds to 2.75 pounds and thereís little or no creep.

I have a CZ in .17 Hornet, it's been a lot of fun, and will shoot the 20gr. VMax factory ammo to about 3/4" on a regular basis. Handloads are a fuzz better. 25gr. HPs aren't quite there, but not too far off, either.
You'll have a lot of fun with it.

I've pretty much done the same to my 77/17 and can get sub 1/2 MOA with 20gr reloads and factory 15.5 NTX.
I see now that Federal is making ammunition for the 17 Hornet. Anyone tried this yet?

Rover, yours shoots much better than mine. Ive shot a few 1Ē groups, none less and most are 1.25Ē.
Any advice or load data is welcome.
