I added a 375 JDJ barrel to my Encore collection and had the barrel shortened / recrowned to 23". I'm loading 235g Speer on top of 50.5 of 4895 with good accuracy and loaded up some 235g Barnes TSX with the same result. I hope to get a whitetail before the season is over with the 375 just to see how it performs. I have no idea as to actual velocity but software says is should be in the neighborhood of 2400fps at the muzzle with my load and barrel. Just wanted to know who else here if anyone shoots the 375 JDJ. The 375 JDJ is fun to shoot - in moderation - definitely not a plinker. BTW this was the barrel that justified the purchase of a SVL limbsaver recoil pad.

Have a 23" G-2 barrel that I use with an older frame.

Have some 260 Nosler accubonds loaded for it but have not shot anything with them.

Shot a nice 8 pt last year with Hornady 220 bullets. DRT!!!

Mines shoots 1 big hole at 50 yds with either load.

Yep, think it may stay around a while. :D

375 ssk

Hardwood, do yourself a big favor and call the guy who invented it. Look up SSK on the net and ask to talk with the man himself, JD Jones, he would be more than happy to speak with you, as usual with JD, he will start rambling on about his hunting exploits across the pond.
Very helpful man, he will give you all the info you ever needed on the 375. Good luck

I have

A 375 JDJ in a contendor, shot that same bullet for awhile, does ok on whitetails but doesn't expand much at 2100 fps. finaly got away from them when I had a bad experiance with a black bear. Those bullets are designed to expand at 375 H&H velocities.
