Effective March, 2019, no exact date given, ALL Bump Stocks for AR-15 and any other rifles will be BANNED in the U.S. under the same law that bans machine guns as per the Justice Department! It was just announced today and is effective "90 days after being formally published in the Federal Register which is expected to be this Friday, December 21, 2018". "Current owners of "bump stocks" will be REQUIRIED to turn them into the ATF or destroy them by late March", the official said." Who and how is anyone going to check on one of these being destroyed? Get caught with one and you go to jail like getting caught with an unregistered machine gun, I guess!!
.

Well, there goes another brick into the wall banning guns, gentlemen! Found this tonight in our local communist propaganda, er, Democratic propaganda, news sheet, heck, there's no difference! Trump's about to change and the Damn cowardly, chicken little Republicans will do nothing to stop it! The new wave of chicken fertilizer Repubs ain't worth a crap and if ya' get more damn women in there, it'll just go downhill that much quicker! Used to think voting for women wouldn't hurt; B/S! I'll never do it again in my lifetime! If you need to think about that idea; then you're already out of the gun business!
.
Anyway, there's the news. Read it and weep. Better hope there are no records as to who has purchased one or the Feds will be knockin' on YOUR door if you have one!

.

It appears to me that the NRA and the Trump administration sorta "slipped this one in the back door", didn't they, Fellas?

I don't really care about the stock. I can shoot pretty damn quick without one and more accurately. That said it's a slippery slope from here. What's next......

This is being challenged in court, and it definitely needs to be. If this can legally be done simply by executive order, I can already tell you what's next on the list - semiautomatic "assault weapons," as defined by whoever writes the EO, and magazines which hold over a specified amount of cartridges. Even if you don't own or care about any of these items, please contact your congresscritters and let them know how you feel!

And don't worry, your favorite type of firearm is also on 'the list!'

Exec. Order

According to the article in the paper, this was NOT done via Executive Order but rather by amending current legislation already in place controlling machine guns. It didn't state which law was amended, but I think it may be either the Gun Control Act of 1968 or possibly the law passed back in, I believe, 1934, controlling personal ownership of machine guns! What bothers me the most is that this appears to have been drawn up by our crooked Justice Department because it was signed by ACTING Attorney General Matthew Whitaker on Tuesday morning!! This begs the question of since when does the Department of Justice start writing and passing laws of any kind? Since they want to impeach a President they don't like? Is that it? This, if it wasn't, should have been done by the House and Senate, NOT, the D.o.J.! That's illegal writing and passage of a law if that were to be what happened!!

Bump stocks

I don't care a whit about bump stocks. I see them as toys for guys who want to play army but can't afford a true full-auto weapon. I do care a great deal about the precedent this action could set and the fact that congress has repeatedly abdicated it's responsibility by allowing bureaucratic agencies to create regulations which are effectively "law". The slope has been slippery for a long time and isn't getting any better.

First off, let me say that I have fired many types of legal full autos... from 22s and mini-guns to 20mm....After firing a bump stock years ago, I quickly decided I had less than zero interest in owning one! I will (and do) defend the right as I see it for someone to own one. I think the RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) helped pushed for this just before mid-terms and can't back away now. As I see it, we as gun owners have to stop the steady compromise that has continued for decades! We need to stick together and fight the foes as a united team, not faction by faction. Together as a united front we are strong, divided we can topple!
It's not that they want bump stocks banned....they want ALL guns and accessories banned!

Rant off...
