Can I get any opinions on the 8-32X 50mm. Black Diamond? How is clarity, resolution, and or sharpness, compared to a Lupy VXIII 8.5-25X 50mm. Does the BD have any internal problems with tracking, or change in POI, when changing power? Also, how does the Burris "Forever Warranty" compare to Leupold's Lifetime? All replies welcome!

Bought one with the Ballistic Mil-Dot reticle in Cabela's Bargain Bin, on the way back from the 04 PD Conference. It was marked way down because it had a chip in the objective lense. Took it directly to the factory in Greeley, CO for repair and it was returned, at no cost. When I dropped it off, I was asked if I was willing to wait until they got in a new supply of lense material from Zeiss. Compared to my 8.5-25x50 Leupold Vari-X III theres not much difference. Your milage may vary, but I'm satisfied with it.
I have one , the older front objective model , I realy like it but wish it had 1/4 moa turrets instead of 1/8 moa. Its very clear and bright I would say that its at least on par with the Leupold VX-III.
I lost my turret caps so I called Burris and they said no problem and sent some out , wrong ones so i called back and said that I needed the tall target turret one , they said no problem and sent them out , they got here Friday and they did send the correct TURRETS I never would have thought that they would send me the whole turret , for free !!! So Monday I'll have to call and explain then I'm gonna send both the caps and turrets back with instructions that my 2yr old can understand and see if the thierd time is a charm.

All in all this is the second Burris scope I've bouth and I'm very pleased with them and their customer service , from what I have heard , if you send it back its the same as with Leupold , but I heard from one guy that wasen't happy , but hell Leupold lost two of my scopes and had to replace them both.

Mine is a first-generation objective-focus model and it's an awesome scope. I wouldn't trade it for any Vari-X. There's been tons posted about these things and Burris scopes in general. Do a search on this board and you'll probably find more than you ever wanted to know.

Thanks for the replies all!
I ordered a Black Diamond 8-32X 50mm. and talked to a Burris Tech. I found out that any BD scope with target turrets, does not come with posi-lock. Also, Burris uses 2, 7lb. leaf springs and 1, 30 lb. coil spring to keep the cross-hairs locked. Supposively all others, including Leupold, only uses 1, 7lb. leaf. This is my first Burris scope purchase, and I hope that it will be as good or better than my Lupy VXIII 8.5-25X 50mm. LRT.
Why would you want 1/4 minute turrets? The 1/8th minute turrets is half the reason I bought mine. With the 1/4 I often end up choosing between shooting over the target or under the target. I know you can compensate when you know your scope is off, it's just nice to have it set on target.
