19° and 20-35 wind, steady in gusts. I doubt if anything will be dumb enough to be out today unless absolutely starving.

WD yes got a young male and a older female on two different stands missed a second one on first stand.Dang it was cold got back in around one thirty still un thawing this morning.
I figured they'd run (at least down here they would). Good calling on your part.

About 2 weeks ago I called in 4 at one time, too bad for me that I didn't even see the 3 that came in behind me. Geez it was cold. WD

How was the woodchuck hunting down there last year slow up here.We usually hunt at leas twice a year over by Mansfield last year went to Colorado P dogging.Just picked up a farm up by Lodi for spring hunt.

I live southwest of Mansfield by about 60miles. Chuck hunting here has been nonexistent since about 2003.

In the general area you're talking about I have the privilege to hunt 6-10 times a year. The chuck population in even the best areas I hunt is on a steep downward spiral. Numbers are down in those areas at least 50% in my experience.

Also some of the greatest generation have passed in the last few years and farms are being split out etc sometimes causing difficulty in getting permission.

A lot of contributing factors for the decline in numbers, but the fact is numbers are way down. WD
