Is there any way to tell the date of manufacture for a Mod 700 from the serial number? I looked at Remington's site with no luck..... Found another site but they wanted a date code which was supposed to be located on the left side of the barrel just front of the receiver but I didn't remove the stock and didn't find any letters there. I bought it in the late 60's but I just can't remember the year. I guess CRS is setting in!
