First, I want to thank you all. I can't over state our appreciation for concerns, thoughts, and prayers reference Jen's cancer.

So, she met with her doctor this morning and here's the short version of where we are. I'm not going to throw around names of the meds she'll be getting but it is not chemotherapy. It's immunotherapy administered IV every three weeks to start. It's supposed to be the latest best thing going.
The intent is to "power-up" her own immune system to get it to fight the cancer. The dosage and frequency of the treatments will be adjusted as necessary. They will start soon. Jen and Joe live in Holland, MI but the treatments will be at U of Mich Hospital in Ann Arbor which is about 2 1/2 hours one way for them. They are looking into moving to Ann Arbor and they think her husband will be able to continue his job working from home. They have good insurance but the treatments have to be pre-approved by the insurance carrier. It could be a long haul.

Jen has a very positive attitude about the situation and I, of course, will follow suit.

Thanks again!

That’s good news Doug. I don’t know anything about immunotherapy but would expect there isn’t the side effects there that chemo has. Never the less prayers still going up for all of you.
P.S. Got to the hockey tournament. Seen 2 games, both went into overtime, great games.

Well, it's not a magic wand, I guess, but what you reported sure sounds good to me, Doug. I've read a little about some of the cancer-fighting immunotherapy regimens and they sometimes indeed seem like miracle drugs. I'm gonna keep praying for Jen and I hope everyone else will do the same. Everything you shared sounds positive to me. Now, set another "tickler" on your calendar to give us an update in 3-4 months.;)

Great news,

Doug;
Great news for Jen and the whole family. I know a young lady that has been through the mill so to speak with the big C. She has fought it for many years and is still going.

With many prayers from all over this great country and the help of our Lord, your daughter will see the end of this terrible disease. Continued prayers from the northern Ozarks of Missouri. God bless.

Thanks for the update. I will send a prayer for her and the family. My Wife and my Mother are both cancer survivors so I have some deep feelings for anyone going through this. A good attitude is important and I applaud both you and your Daughter. Take care.

Will continue to pray for Jen and your family.

As I read your update was reminded of what a new cardiologist told me on first visit in 2002 - there have been changes in the treatment of heart disease in the past 14 years that allowed treatment of what had previously been death sentences.

Medical science does move on however God is sovereign and unchanging and a comfort to people of faith.

Best.
