Doc, you would have enjoyed watching planes take off from this mountain airstrip on Buffalo Hump. It was on a sort of table top, and too short and high to get enough lift.

The only way to get out of there was to go like heck, lift off, fall over the edge, gain speed, bank left and fly through the valley around the mountain, gaining altitude slowly.

Those bushpilots are nutz. JMO, Dutch.

If you look close

There is a small "Dome" on the turtleback of the plane. If that was in Guat as the Museum of Hoax`s says, that may be a D/I plane. Interesting that there was a truck there. What might they be hauling out of there? Hmmmmmmmm:cool:

Buffalo Hump is an old Gold Mining District south of Grangeville, and north of the Salmon River, in Idaho. One of those roads that you can't drive without scratching your truck.

Good elk hunting, though. Dutch.
