No, not no more shooters...
Melissa and Tucker came home with 4 diddles yesterday.
Last time they did that there was 6 and 5 turned out roosters.
Guess we'll see how these turn out, they said they were hens
when they bought'em..

I have been planning to get me some more hens, I have not had any for two years, at one time I had 26 and and got about 12-18 eggs a day. I like watching my chickens. These had imprinted on me since I fooled with them the most when we got them, just a few days old. One day I was out working on a gate behind the house and sat down on a bank under a shade tree to rest, the hens saw me and in about 5 minutes, I had 20 chickens sitting in the shade all around me. l would take stale bread out and they would eat the crumbs out of my hand.

Chickens

Congratulations !

For years we had a dozen or so wandering around the yard. I would sit out on the deck and watch them scratch and peck all day. Almost like watching fish swim around in an aquarium. The eggs everyday were just a bonus.

Now we are down to two useless Pygmy goats that are fed so well they won’t even eat the weeds growing back there. They are Little Miss Martha’s babies and she enjoys messing with them.

Said they was golden comets.
Brown eggs, we have 3 Ameraucans, blue-green eggs.
They all get named and are easy to put up at nite. They have the yard
and fields to roam but still like to be hand fed stale bread and whatever
you give'em. When I pull in from work, they come running and squawk their
heads off looking for food. Spoiled like the dog and goats and sheep.

I had chickens when I was a little feller...got more when I moved back to Kentucky from jobs in the north, but i don't have any now and I really miss them.
It's tough to have Chickens as Every critter wants to kill them. Middle son had chickens since he moved to the Ft. Knox area, but gave up the struggle with the Varmints last summer.
Charlie, they are really good with flower beds and gardens.
