Since it was too rough in Hatteras to take Lillie out in the boat, we decided since we have her here today we would go fishing at the neighbor's pond. Lillie caught 5 small bass and a NICE crappie on a tiny torpedo topwater lure in an hour with her new fishing rod. Need to get her to hold the fish. She said she didn't want to because they are too slimy. LOL F

Finally, a good day fishin'!

Man, Charlie, that crappie is a dandy. I was trying to remember if I'd EVER caught one on a topwater. I might have caught one flyfishing for bluegill with a popper, but I'm not positive. Catching one on a Tiny Torpedo is a hoot. You've got that young lady off to a good start, I'd say.

Wonderful Post and many thanks to you for getting her started young! She had quite a day and you can see by her expression how much she enjoyed herself. When I used to fish for Crappies all the time I always used small Mr. Twisters, I think I should start fishing for them again.

Good pictures and post. Getting
kids interested in something thats
not electronic is a good start in life.

I still remember my first bass. It was
12.5" caught on a No3 Mepps. I thought
it was a WHALE. That was about 60yrs
ago, and it seems like only yesterday.
