A 22lr pistol with a 6 inch barrel does not burn all the powder before the bullet exits the barrel. A 22 mag cannot burn all the powder. I suspect the 22 jet would have more of problem, and as Bruce said they are loud, the noise may be caused by the powder exiting the barrel.
Has anyone chronagraphed a 22 jet. I’d be interested in what they got for speed. I wonder if it’s anything close to the speed the reload books claim.
I know a fella who bought one when they came out 50 some years ago. He had trouble with the tapered case, pushing back an binding up the cylinder. He was using factory ammo also. End of the story is he didn’t keep it very long.
