23° here in Upstate NY this morning, the high temperature for today is to get up to only 26°. we are suppose to have snow showers today without much accumulation.

Yesterday was a day of computer work plus I had to do paperwork for both my business and the gun club. I had to make changes on the club website for the new officers, type up the meeting notes, etc. Today will be another busy day but that is all right with me.

Have a Wonderful Day Everyone.

Great morning folks,

Mostly overcast, light snow flurries are likely and we have 25° on the thermometer here near Halfway USA.

Yesterday I played with wood for much of the day. Firewood got moved around & closer to the wood stove. I did make some sawdust by cutting base board trim. I have 5 more pieces to cut and nail to the wall. The barn doors need a coat of poly on the back side & then, after drying, get installed. Hopefully, this afternoon the room will be completed.

Next project - Oak stair treads. That will probably be after Christmas.

morning all. 30 to start the day, don't know what the high will be but shouldn't be very cold. Snow storm played out before it got here, but did get some in the mountains.
Worked in the farm shop most of the day as the wind blew outside. Might be the same for today too.
Not much else going on, really need to get out and call a coyote or two, I saw seven different ones yesterday morning around the farm. I'm getting them trained good, they all are running before I can get stopped to try to get a shot!
Have a great day, it's FRIDAY! Prayers up for those in need.
GOD BLESS. Dean

39 when I got up, overcast. Local weather people are all over the place with their predictions on what we get in my neck of the woods. Might be 1-2" of rain, flurries, or a mix of all the above. Guess I'll just wait and see what it does. :p

Good morning, GoGo. It's 27 in Louisville, going to 40, partly cloudy. Just a couple of days ago they were predicting some kind of precip for this weekend, but that apparently has vanished. Fine by me.

I've been largely AWOL from the board this week, at least in terms of posting in the morning. I think I was just busy or distracted. But even if I don't get to the board until evening, I check the morning post in order to keep up with friends here.

Thought I was driving to northern KY tomorrow to visit a longtime college friend, but turns out he's out of town. I need to get some more Bambi burger turned into sausage, so maybe I'll drag everything out and take a shot at summer sausage tomorrow. I used my homemade PVC hydraulic stuffer a few weeks ago, making snack sticks, and I had some water leakage past the O-rings on my piston. Need to get that design flaw figured out and fixed somehow. Any experts on hydraulics or O-rings here?

Charlie, best of luck to you and Mom this weekend as you hunt.

Y'all have a good'n and be safe out there.

Good morning folks. T.G.I.F. (psssst TAJ...hint...it's FRIDAY;)) It's 30º here and we have a sprinkle of snow here and there around town. Didn't see anything at home. Chilly morning with some wind. I'm working until 11am, then headed to the deer lease with mom. We're going to try another box blind tonight. They've been seeing more deer on the other end of the farm. If we don't get one tonight, we may try the other end tomorrow. See what happens. Need to get a few things done here before I leave.

Donnie, I'm not sure what we're supposed to get out of this mess, but the news said Jonesville was in the "bullseye" for the worst. You guys take care down there. Don't drive if you don't have to!

Have a good one.

Charlie

Late check in guys, 38 here now in SC KY, with a high of 42 predicted. Got to run a few errands today and plug up a new scooter chair I bought to get around yesterday! These normally sell for $1500-1700 used, $2500 new, I go this on an online auction for $209 total, charging the batter as I type this, supposed to get 8 miles minimum on a charge. The ladies daughter was there at the home along with the realtor, and his crew. I asked how old the chair was, she said about a year, stated that her mother had had the chair for about two weeks, when she had a massive stroke that left her a vegetable. I am hoping to get my new hip in the last of Jan., but I still have a mostly numb right leg, and even though I can swing it and walk pretty well, it is only for a short distance and then I start dragging it. This will be helpful when going to gunshows, etc. Well got to run, Charlie good luck to you and mom, remember those in need of prayers, Buff out!

Not quite morning anymore, so I'll just say G'day. Cloudy and low 40's in the hollow today. Looking for a sleet/snow/rain mix sometime tomorrow maybe. Today it's just dark, cloudy and chilly. The damp makes it more so. Had to get out early today to meet a rep from the power company at the new range. We now have the route for the new power lines planned. Could possibly have power in February. Like us and everybody else building anything in our region, the power company is far behind due to all the rain. While we were there we looked over the planned area for the pistol bays and agreed with the dirt mover how to proceed. As soon as we have some trees down and get some test holes dug we will have a better idea of what to do. At least a reasonable amount of rain won't hold up progress on that end and we will be getting something accomplished.

G'day Y'all,
Rick

Good afternoon everyone!

Late check in, 30 degrees with a light south wind up here on the wind blown praire. Just came home from ice fishing this morning. They are really biting good now. I got 2 18 inch walleyes, 1 28 inch northern and 14 slab size crappies. I’m well stocked up on fish now for awhile. The ice is thick enough (11 inches) to drive out on it with the pick up. It been damn cold and made good tempered ice.

1. Your o-ring needs to be no more than 70 durometer. (A number for how playable it is) Some o-rings are made from a material called “Viton”. It is softer than butyl rubber ring. It would allow you to use and oversized ring to seal the piston to the tube. The down side of viton is that it is very expensive and lt is hard to find because it only comes in a limited amount of special use sizes.

2. instead you may need to us a “lip seal with a expander ring” instead of a o-ring. I suspect that your PVC pipe ID is not concentric enough to allow the o-ring to seal. Your pisto will have to be modified to seal in both directions to seal

3. If your tube is concentric to .010 of a inch you might solve your problem by utilizing 2 o-rings, a round o-find on top and a square o-ring on the bottom of the piston. Pieces of meat and fiber may be sticking to the wall and breaking the seal allowing leakage. Hopefully a square o-ring will wipe clean better.

4. There is schedule 40 plastic pipe and schedule 80 plastic pipe which is thicker wall pipe. Perhaps your pipe wall is flexing causing it to not seal. Do you know when it leaks. As soon as it starts or in the middle of the stroke?
