Yep, in Jackson. The shops in Alpine aren't much better. I asked the guy in Alpine about doing a transfer for me and he got all huffy "What's wrong with the guns I've got in stock?" he says. "Well," says I, " I can get it about $200dollars cheaper somewheres else" "It must be stolen then. I won't have no parts of that." he says. I don't know what these guys are thinking, I really don't! The lady down in Thayne will do the paperwork for $20. Thats reasonable.

Locally the 88 is a favorite and it is had to find one in any reasonable condition for $850. And if you want a shock, try finding and paying for a magazine clip. As much as I would like one, there is an old Savage 99 in .308 for $375 but the stock had a scuffed up finish. it is walnut so oil would be just fine to me. Actually the 99 has a smoother action, just a longer throw.
