Hello, everybody. I was sure I'd done this before, since the record says I joined in 2008, but apparently not. I'm a 68-year-old retired Managing Editor of an educational publishing company. Been shooting since I was about eight. Interested in hunting, target shooting and reloading. Have a .22 rimfire, .22 Hornet (my pet) and a .223. Unfortunately, because of our gun laws, the chances are practically zero of me ever being "allowed" to own anything else. Perhaps an under and over shotgun is a possibility, but because of restrictions, a hand gun is right out of the question. In fact, our police are currently demanding people over 65 justify their continuing ownership of any firearms.

Also keen on photography, riding our BMW R1150RT, good wine and, of course, my wife, the love of my life.

People here in the USA don't know how good they have it regarding firearm ownership. The idea that someone over the age of 65 is so impaired that they can't be trusted with or have any reasonable need for a firearm is outrageous. This would be a way for the gun grabbers in this country to eliminate the core generation of firearm owners and only deal with the brainwashed younger population.

Gentlemen in Western Australia they have some of the most draconian gun laws in the whole country an absolute travesty of bullshit.

They basically can't have say 3 different guns in the same calibre, must have a farmer's written permission to shoot on their land, must say why they want a big calibre rifle to shoot say camels for instance plus a whole host of other crap laws because the cops and the govt. over there are just plain arseholes and basically want nobody to have guns.

I'd say the anti gun clowns will be all over this and wanting to tighten up gun laws even further.

They'll spin their usual lies and half truths and of course the media won't let this go because it's newsworthy and will score them bigger ratings and sell more papers while trying to hold the high moral ground something that along with the truth has never been the media's high points.

Just heard today of a Muslim group calling for a TOTAL ban on firearms in Australia because they "no longer feel safe".

I reckon lever actions in Australia are about to cop a hiding, too.

Amazing isn't it how something happens in another country that has nothing to do with Australia except in this case the low life mongrel was Australian that now the eternally offended plus a minority group now want to put more lies and crap onto the gun owning Australian public.

All because they they feel "threatened" when in actual fact we should be more worried about minority groups and jelly spined politicians trying to turn the place into a 3rd world shithole.

It would be fair to assume that the attempt to ban lever actions would be because of the Adler debacle that the snowflakes were so scared of the "new age" technology which they tried to scare the uninformed and eternally offended with.
