KF said something yesterday about hunting and fishing knives so I thought I might start a thread on them

I haven't hunted deer in recent years, but I used this Western Drop Point a great deal when I was.

I have worn this Uncle Henry on the belt of my fishing pants for quite a few years now. It is a 55UH Special Edition.

About 12 years ago I met (online) an old fella from Montana who at the time was in his 80s. I think I mailed him a Large Flat Rate box of split white oak slivers to age Moonshine with. We talked quite a bit, and he had no children to leaves his "Stuff" to. He was an old Military vet and I told him about Jesse. He sent me this very old Buck knife to give to him. He had carried it for years. I lost touch with him and don't recall his name.
I Just found it looking for an M1 carbine...which is misplaced.

I have one just like it somewhere, that I used to carry on my belt a lot. Never used it for much and it was heavy. Thinking 1960s model.

I thought l recognized the Buck 110. I too used to wear one belted daily. Just ran across it 2 wks back. I did replace the leather carrier after quite a few years off ebay. A new one but a good chance less quality leather as it began wearing way too soon compared to the original.
Its funny as belt wgt doesn't bother me. Steel framed Commander w 230s & 185s, 9 total w McCormick 8 rd mags is my daily wear. I just don't notice it. When l decide and or chance across a single mag pouch, that will be added.

I don't own a fixed blade skinning knife. @George Foster posted a photo of that nice knife and I recalled I have one that "Looks" similiar.
It is an USMC Fighting knife that made the trip thru the Pacific and back.
It's PAL R36. Not worth much, maybe $50 or $60.
George's knife looks a lot better but here's a photo.

Probably a knife you bought if you couldn't get a K-Bar or Case XX.
