I have never seen chucks out this early along the freeway between Twin Falls and Jerome, Idaho. I saw three while traveling to Gooding. They looked healthy and plump! A couple of them had bright red patches on their throats.

It was all I could to do to keep the 17 Remington sitting in the passenger seat at bay!

I did go out and shoot some jacks near Shoshone. It was sure nice to be out of the inversion of Salt Lake City and see the sun and enjoy a very warm (45 degree) calm day. 13 Jacks fell to the 17 Remington Sunday afternoon.

If man ever created a better jack rabbit caliber than the 17 Rem, I have not found it!
