I think @Bruce Eakins has written the Book on getting rid of the Cedars.
We have a lot of Ceday Here in Kentucky but make big trees and fence posts. The cedar berries are eaten by @Greyfox Birds and they sit on every Wire fence I have and crap out the Seeds....which every one comes up and I have to Snip them off in the fencelines.

I’ve known Jimmy since the wife and I were married in 1967. He knows what he’s talking about.
I live in that same S Canadian river. I didn’t want to pay that much money to have somebody else to cut them. I bought a Kubota skid steer and tree saw. I just traded it off for a new one. It has 2000 hours on it. Probably 1700 of them were cutting red cedars. That’s a lot of cedars.
The government payments paid for tha skid steer. It’s probably the most used piece of equipment we have on the place.

Interesting, they are doing the same thing in eastern Oregon. It has really changed the area we hunt. It is crazy the water they consume. The BLM pays the ranchers to clear it and burn.
